What is the Big Deal?

The BIG DEAL is the biggest social networking event for young professionals in South East Queensland brought to you by a coalition of young professional organisations called the South East Queensland Young Professionals Network (SEQ YPN).

Since the first event in September 1998, which brought together about 250 young professionals on the rooftop of Rydges, Southbank, to mark 10 years since Expo 88, the Big Deal has become a fixture on the annual young professional calendar. Typically two Big Deals have been held each year and the event just keeps on attracting young professionals with its mix of atmosphere, fun, and networking opportunities. Up to 700 young professionals have attended these events in the past.

Big Deal functions give young professionals in Brisbane the chance to meet with others, make contacts, network, and of course, have a great time. It caters for all young professionals across a variety of industries. It markets itself on three things - being cross-disciplinary (to enhance the value of networking),  a quality venue (often a venue that is not your everyday function space, i.e. Art Gallergy, Science Centre), and a focus on "space" for interactions (we don't interrupt your evening with heaps of speeches or presentations).

The overwhelming popularity of the event, which once took us by surprise, is now something we can look forward to. The Big Deal continues to increase its reputation among young professionals as an event not to be missed!

The Big Deal is not run as a profit-making exercise. The SEQ Young Professionals Network is set up just to give young professionals an opportunity to mix, network and have fun - and contribute to a charity on the side.
