Youth and the Millennium Development Goals
In April 2004, the IYPF became involved in a working group to produce a report on Youth and the Millennium Development Goals. This report has been titled 'Youth and the Millennium Development Goals: Challenges and Opportunities for Implementation' and has been written for two reasons:
  1. Because the MDGs will not be achieved without increasing human capacity for development. Youth are a 1.2 billion+ person untapped resource for poverty reduction.
  2. After Jeffery Sachs reported on the progress of the Millennium Development Goals at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development in 2004, the chair of the Youth Caucus asked him how he was going to involve youth as partners. He replied, "You tell us."
