Tamara Price Role: Summit Coordinator Age: 24 Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Day-job: Corporate Services Graduate, Airservices Australia "I've been involved with the IYPF since way back in 2001, when I was the Communications Director for the first IYPS. Since then I've held numerous roles, founding Director, Company Secretary, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Operations Officer - often at the same time! It's been fascinating to watch the IYPF grow, to watch young professionals around the world take it on as their own, and I'm very excited about being able to deliver the second IYPS to all our members and friends." Nicole Randall Role: Communications Team Leader Age: 27 Location: Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia Day-job: Promotions Assistant, Beaudesert Shire Council "I was the Media Team leader at the last Summit, and apparently they thought I did an OK job, because I am now the Content Producer of the IYPF. This means I am responsible for the production for the monthly newsletter, creating publicity material and the content of the website. I have recently taken on the role of Communications Team Leader for the IYPS. We have gained a lot of experience since the last Summit, and have some new ideas on how to make our task easier but more effective. I am looking forward to meeting you all, and working towards a successful IYPS." Ayodeji Adewunmi Role: Partnerships Team Leader Age: 20 Location: Ile-Ilf, Nigeria Day-job: Student - Medicine and Surgery "For the IYPF, I am the Chief Partnerships Officer. I got involved with the IYPF in my quest to tap the seed that was sown in me by my parents - the seed of internationalism. I am particularly involved in this organisation because I believe in the powers of young people to effect positive change! Today more than ever before, young people around the world are looking for ways to make a difference through volunteering, international services etc and the IYPF has provided me, not only with answers to this but with tools and resources to be the difference." Alexandra Meldrum Role: Projects Liaison Age: Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Day-job: International Purchasing, Nestle "After attending the IYP summit on the Gold Coast a couple of years ago, I was enthusiastic about what this group of people could achieve to make positive change. In the IYPF projects group, I'm Project Development Officer Financial Management. I'm interested in change management - both at a strategic level and also at a personal level. The IYPF has made tremendous progress since it first started up and I'm hopeful that that can continue. I like seeing how we can apply the skills and perspectives of young people to make changes and to make a better world." Tomi Winfree Role: Organisational Liaison Age: 26 Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Day-job: Graduate student "After moving to Australia from the USA in March 2004, I joined the IYPF and began volunteering as the Organizational Liaison for the IYPS 2004. We have been working with organisations across the globe to coordinate future partnerships and projects directed toward achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals. My knowledge of the IYPF, since its development, has been through a young professional organization in the USA called SustainUS, but living in Australia has given me the opportunity to get involved in the upcoming Summit. This has been an amazing chance for me to work with a wonderful group of young professionals that make the global village a part of their everyday lives and strive to improve the way of life for all. The dedicated volunteer staff work tremendously hard to keep the IYPF organized and up to date on networks, organizations, projects, and new developments across the globe and I have no doubt they will continue to be successful in all their future endeavors and I am thankful to be a small part of it." Chris Zigetvari Role: Delegates Team Leader Age: 28 Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Day-job: Australian Bureau of Statistics "Chris got involved in the IYPS 2004 Team to facilitate delegates working towards making the world a better place. As part of the IYPS team, he has become part of a global network, and faced the challenges of meeting in a virtual environment. By participating in the Summit, Chris hopes to gain an understanding of issues around the world, and develop networks to progress achievable outcomes. Through his involvement in IYPS, Chris aims to voice the concerns of young professionals in international forums. " Cameron Neil Role: IYPF CEO Cameron Neil is a development professional with particular interests and experience in sustainability, youth development, entrepreneurship, venture development and social and eco business. Kate Plant Role: Public Event Team Leader Age: - Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Day-job: Qld Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "I have organised various community events or been part of a team organising community events across the State of Queensland. I really enjoy getting involved with the community and undertaking community activities because I believe that true positive cultural and moral changes, which will result in true sustainability for the human race, has to occur from the community (YOU and I, alike!). And then to effect these true positive cultural and moral changes, we need leaders/people willing to take “Ideas into Actions”. So, I saw this opportunity to organise an event for the community and I went for it!" |
