The Selection Process
Criteria Potential delegates should demonstrate the following in their application:
· Be aged between 18 - 35 years as of the first day of the Summit · Represent a particular organisation · Be willing to work constructively toward practical solutions · A commitment to pursuing issues which are relevant to the Summit Process Delegate selections will consist of a two-tier process, as follows:
1. Each region will have its own selection panel and applications from each region will be sent to the appropriate selection panel. The regional selection panel will recommend or short list all delegates they think are suitable.
2. A central selection panel will review the recommendations made by each regional selection panel and will finalise which delegates are to be invited. In order to ensure representation from each region across the Summit themes, and to assist in delegate selection, applicants will be 'allocated' to each of the four thematic and nine action area groups. Once they have been invited to attend, delegates will have the opportunity to review this decision and recommend where they would rather be placed.
